I have lived in Hayfield for over 30 years and been active in the community; such as volunteering for the Jazz Festival, the Sheepdog Trials and more recently as a Parish Councillor and on the Kinder Trespass Group.
After leaving school aged 15, I had a variety of jobs, including bus driving. I then went back to full time education at Stockport College and afterwards had a successful career in Further and Higher Education management. Twelve years ago I qualified as a mountain leader and now work as a freelance walking guide.
I am a lifelong, active member of the Labour Party and trade union movement. I am passionate about the outdoors, protecting our environment, encouraging and supporting the development and skills of young people, and working as part of a team to implement the socialist principles of the Labour Party.
